  • Hunting -  Boulder Junction is located in the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest. 82 % of the townsip is publicly held and open for hunting in the fall.
  • Boating - For power boating activities there is a boat ramp on Boulder Lake (700 acres).

  • Beaches - 7 State Department of Natural Resources beaches and picnic area within 9 miles of Boulder Junction.

  • Powell Marsh Wildlife Preserve - Manitowish Waters
  • Shooting Range - trap, skeet, rifle, pistol and archery ranges are located east of Trout Lake Forestry Headquarters.
  • Water-ski Shows - Manitowish waters, Minocqua and Plum Lake.

  • Airports - Local, 2 miles from town, 2 sand runways - 3900 feet & 3300 feet - unattended. Full service airport at Manitowish Waters (15 miles). Commercial connections available year around at Rhinelander (42 miles).
